SUCCESS...for one night at least!

Last night I made calzones with spinach, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes. They were yummy! I called them "homemade pizza" because AC loves homemade pizza. I covered hers in pizza sauce.

She ate the whole thing! She did spit (yes, spit) out the mushrooms...who could blame her? I'm pretty sure I didn't eat mushrooms as a child either.

"Mommy, what is the green stuff?"

"It's called seasoning...to make it taste good." This is not too far from the truth because I did put Italian Seasoning in them.

She ate the whole thing! PROGRESS!!!

This morning I said, "Did you know that pizza had spinach in it and you liked it? I'm so proud of you!"

She shook her head. "No, mommy, I didn't like it!" Whatever...I am happy!

Wow- that looks great! If you put a picture of food on your blog, you have to put EXACTLY how you made it so we all can too! AC looks so big in your blog picture- too cute!!!

um ... that looks DEeeeeeeeeLICIOUS!

I need that recipe.

Also, I use the Jessica Seinfeld book and throw in baby food veggies into my kids food .. but, I also do make them take as many bites as their age. Even if they are crying (A.C.)

Ok, so I thought I posted a comment last night. Apparently it did not show up. Anyway, all I said was that I agreed; the food looks delicious! And I think it's hilarious that you told her the green stuff was seasoning. Maybe that's the key w/children. It's psychological. She knows it's a vegetable/good for her, she won't eat it. Tell her it's seasoning, and she eats it all.

SWEET!!! but see, you weren't lying. because the spinach does make the calzone taste good. it can be a form of seasoning =). And taking something she does like and putting a healthy spin on it is very smart!! (i would recommend not telling her it's spinach until she's 20 or so, so you can re-use that meal) haha!

and with her mac and cheese, I'm not sure if you already make your own but if you do, change up the noodles, use whole wheat pasta instead. I'm a firm believer in whole grains and organic food (i was a vegetarian for a while too) so if you need any recipes let me know, I like to make healthy food and it's always good!!

That looks really good. Just inspired me to go to the grocery store...

also, how did you get that play list on your blog? I want to put one on mine but I'm a little blog-dumb!

I look forward to the recipe!!
