A little bit of lately

This is a little (ok, maybe a lot) of what we've been up to. Picking out and carving pumpkins...

I insist make it a point that this be a Daddy/Daughter project each year...how selfless of me:) (Thanks, Melissa!)

Wilson, our almost 12-year-old Jack Russell who, bless his heart, gets no blog time. He adores Steve so wherever you find Steve you will also find Wilson. He sat right there in the middle of the pumpkin carving.

The finished project...

Halloween brought a Pink Peony Princess

And a flower child (aka "peace sign girl" according to Owen)

This was the 1st year I didn't guide them whatsoever as to what they might want to be. Good grief, I never knew what a control freak I was 'till Halloween rolled around.

A peanut project...

I was out of town for a retreat. GG came in town for a visit and I left them the peanut and the directions. They ran with it. I was so excited to see the finished project when I got home, and they had a blast working on it together.

The National Peanut Festival (aka "the fair") I left my camera at home and did not even take one with my phone. BUT, someone sent me this one from last year...

taken from www.nationalpeanutfestival.com

Doesn't someone look absolutely thrilled?

The Peanut Parade (I did take these 2 with my phone because I, once again, left my camera at home)

Pre-haircut...

Grandparent's Day at school (and post-haircut)

Telling them all about 2nd grade...

The 2nd grade performed patriotic music in celebration of Veteran's Day and Grandparent's Day.

Both of the girls love school and that is a tremendous blessing.

And finally...I wish this was how I chose to just plop down in the middle of the floor. Ouch!

Whew! That was A LOT! Next up...a recap of our visit to see my brother and sister-in-law in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
